Visit of Special International Itinerary Workers to Australia
Rev Soon Teck Lim, National Leader
Welcoming and Introduction
On Thursday, 12th October, two elder leaders, Rev Myeong Dae Kim and Rev Man Woong Cho arrived in Sydney, as part of their Oceania tour. Rev Kim and Rev Cho were both sent in position of Special International Itinerary Workers by True Mother. Rev Kim and Rev Cho belong to the 124 and 430 Couples Blessing respectively. Both of them have served in the public mission for over forty years. Rev Kim has helped many pioneer churches to grow in Korea and Japan. He was once appointed as Chair of the Japanese movement. On the other hand, Rev Cho worked five years in Africa as National Messiah and was serving in the Blessed Family Department in Korea.
We are very grateful to receive the IWs as representatives from True Mother. We surely receive True Parents’ love and grace through their visit. They conveyed to us timely messages regarding Cheon Il Guk building and our responsibilities as blessed families for Vision 2020. During their visit, they prayed deeply for blessed families and the city in each community they visited. They met and encouraged individual members, blessed families, and Ambassadors for Peace. They gave guidance and advise to leaders and members during the tour and encouraged us to reach higher goals. They completed the 16-day tour in Australia on 27 October and departed for Solomon Islands.
After their arrival in Sydney, the two IWs attended the Oceania Leadership Convocation and Sunday Service on 13th and 15th October respectively. They were introduced by Dr Chung Sik Yong and Rev Shang Seon Park to the Oceania leaders on Friday and Sydney community on Sunday. They were able to share their testimonies and messages during the occasions. 2nd Gen sister, Youngju Goo helped to translate their messages.
As they shared the experiences of their life with our True Parents, their youthful, humble and loving heart could be felt by all, as well as their peaceful and joyous energy that seemed to be always surrounding them. The words they spoke about True Father and True Mother seemed to be coming directly from their heart, and one could feel how much they love True Parents. This was an incredible experience, in that we could all feel, through them, the desire of True Mother to ‘touch’ each one of us and to be part of our lives.
They expressed desire to meet with young missionaries and all those brothers and sisters who had been missionaries abroad at any time in their church life. On Monday evening, they met together with Rev Park, with a small group of ex-missionaries. They listened intently to each of the testimonies, asked questions and made deep comments.
They said that they too have been missionaries, and that listening to the tough times that everyone had experienced made them realize that there is a unique, deep bond between all of them and the missionaries. They encouraged everyone to continue to work hard in their different areas, according to their circumstances. They made reference to their age and pointed out that everyone else in the room was very young in comparison, and potentially able to still work very hard for the Providence.
My unforgettable experiences were those moments when we met family members. I felt the IWs came with True Parents’ heart to listen and care for the members. They gave good guidance to members despite having just met them for a short time. The prayers they offered moved the heart of the members. Especially they care for the lives of the 2nd Gen members. I had deep conversation with them on how we could connect and support our 2nd gen youth.
Secondly, the IWs came and supported our activities with a sincere heart. They participated in our event and blessed our efforts with encouraging words. For example, they joined in the 2nd Interfaith World Peace Marriage Blessing and blessed the event with True Parents’ grace and encouragement.
The IWs had the chance to participate in the 2nd Interfaith World Peace Marriage Blessing held on 22nd October. They congratulated the couples who received the Blessing.
The IWs took time to do some sightseeing in Sydney and at the ocean
In conclusion, during the visit of the IWs, we feel the love and support of True Parents. We could experience love, hope, and inspiration from our conversation. Through good sharing among the leaders and IWs, we have made new determination to pioneer and go to next level of development. For example, in Brisbane, we had a Members’ Meeting right after their visit. The community have decided to prepare a new community centre by the end of December. Also, they decided to support their spiritual leaders to work fulltime to develop the community and God’s providence in the state. They have also made strong determination to fulfil Heavenly Tribal Messiah activities.
We would like to sincerely thank Heavenly Parent and True Parents for sending the Special International IWs to Australia. We will remember our determination together and strive to achieve greater goals towards Vision 2020. We are determined to challenge our current barriers and limitations to reach greater achievements in 2017 and beyond.
Second Interfaith World Peace Marriage Blessing
On Sunday, 22nd October, the second Interfaith World Peace Marriage Blessing 2017 took place at the Oceania Peace Embassy in Sydney. The Blessing connects people to the love and lineage of Heavenly Parent and True Parents. This is a Blessing movement that provides hope and promotes true marriage and family in society, as well as encouraging interfaith understanding and cooperation.
Participants were Dr Wali and Afroza Islam, long time Ambassadors for Peace, representing Islam. Dr Wali was witnessed by Jacinta Darbishire years ago. The other participants were retired Christian ministers Ted and Anne Grantham, representing Christianity. They are neighbours and friends of Rev Greg and Reiko Stone. They are the two couples out of four that members have been praying in the nation-wide 43-Day Prayer condition. We would like to express our deepest appreciation for members’ prayers and support.
The spiritual foundation was laid by brothers and sisters in the months leading up to the ceremony, through daily prayers and studies of Father’s words from Book 3 of Pyeong Hwa Gyeong “The Mission of Religion in Achieving God’s Ideal.”
Along with the spiritual foundation, seminars were held both at the Peace Embassy and in candidates’ homes, to ensure a good understanding of the meaning of the Blessing and the various steps involved: the Holy Wine Ceremony, Blessing Ceremony, Chastening Ceremony, 40-Day Separation and the 3-Day Ceremony.
On the day, the environment surrounding the couples at the Peace Embassy was beautiful, with the background music, the decorations, fresh flowers, the banner, and all the brothers and sisters who filled the hall in attendance. As with the April ceremony, Mica Camara was the Emcee and the program rolled on smoothly with her confident and bright demeanour.
Jynene Helland offered the opening prayer and gave the Blessing address, Rev Greg and Reiko Stone officiated the Holy Wine ceremony and the Chastening ceremony at the very end, Rev Soon Teck and Rika Lim officiated the Blessing ceremony. Rev Park gave a moving and heartfelt congratulatory speech about his own experience of the Blessing.
The Sydney Choir, led by Chihiro Midorikawa, with the Japanese CIG Missionaries, offered an uplifting musical presentation, singing "The Rose." Chris Bruce led everyone in the 3 cheers of Ok Man Sei, and the ceremony ended with the couples and the officiators cutting the beautifully decorated cake (made by Jynene).
At the end of the ceremony, Mica introduced Rev Myeong Dae Kim and Rev Man Woong Cho as Special International Itinerary Workers who were sent by True Mother. At this point, Rev Kim and Rev Cho stood up and congratulated each couple with a hand shake. True Mother’s presence and love for the newly blessed couples could be truly felt at that moment.
The couples were visibly moved and happily joined the community for a celebration lunch. With five couples already received the Blessing in Sydney this year, we are now praying and preparing for the Interfaith Blessing in Hobart, Tasmania on Saturday, 4 Nov.
A special thanks to:
Rev. Shang Seon Park for constant inspiration and guidance, Rev Soon Teck and Rika Lim and Rev Greg and Reiko Stone for leading the efforts and being on the front-line visiting, educating and taking care of the candidates.
Jynene Helland for providing education and support to the candidates and to those involved in planning the ceremony.
Mica Camara who led the ceremony with great spirit and confidence, despite the very short notice after returning from Africa.
Catrine Von Dinklage for ordering the flowers, decorating the chairs, and ushering the couples.
All Peace Embassy centre members who worked hard and under pressure behind the scenes, before, during and after the ceremony, never losing their smile. Thanks to Saki, the CIG missionary for the beautiful Power Point presentation and well-chosen background music.
Sean Jackson for taking all official photos and editing them.
Emma Bell and Hitomi Croguennec for the food preparation, and finally, to all brothers and sisters who attended the event and supported on the Blessing day.
Last but not least, Silvana Daly for coordinating the preparation, organisation and the Blessing Ceremony.

Divine Principle 2 day workshop hosted by CARP Australia
We had the Divine Principle 2 day workshop on October 28 to 29, 2017. During 2017, It have has not done a workshop related Divine Principle for a while. We longed for the workshop. Working with some Australia youth members and CIG Japanese missionaries, we took time to prepare it since we could feel how much importance we study Divine principle in order to improve witnessing environment to goodness.
In the beginning of workshop, we introduced CARP, which we are trying to register CARP Australia until end of year. During the workshop, lecturers were all elder 2nd generation who could give lectures from introduction to Mission of the Messiah and share about their own experience connecting these contents. We aimed to not just teach the Divine principle but also share own experience and discussion.
The main purpose to hold the workshop is for witnessing guests, but this time there were 2nd generation who are high school age. They want to know what is divine principle and witnessing. Besides, they invited the workshop to their friends and finally brought their friend to the workshop. Even though we did not have many participants, this time it showed how attentive the participants had been.
We hope that all participants who attended the workshop will really convince Divine principle and take ownership to testify our Heavenly Parents and True Parents with their efforts.
Sep 28th - Oct 1st
On the 28th of September 2017 over 35 participants from across Australia gathered at Belgrave Heights, Victoria for an extended weekend of competitive fun and memorable fellowship that was our 2nd Sportsfest. The weekend was jam packed with various sports and activites played during the day time, with the evenings full of fun and competitive mini games. The following are just a few highlights of some of the new events that featured in this year’s Sportsfest in what was an enjoyable weekend for staff and participants alike.
One of the highlights for many of the participants was the archery tag session. On the Friday afternoon, the skies opened up we received a downpour of rain; fortunately the downpour didn’t dampen the spirits at Sportsfest. The group headed to the Eastern Indoor Sports Centre for a ninety-minute session of archery tag (like dodgeball but with bows and arrows). For many participant’s this was their first experience with the sport but that didn’t stop them for having a tremendous amount of fun, shooting, dodging and evading for their “lives”.
A martial arts session led by Rico Santos, and his son Ryu, was also a memorable moment for many of the participants. Rico began the session with a brief yet informative and engaging talk about the philosophy and history of martial arts. He also shared some of his personal life experiences of how he understood the principle through martial arts practise. After providing some theoretical understanding for the participants Rico and Ryu then demonstrated a few key techniques that participants could use in the case they found themselves in a hairy situation. Many were amazed at the effectiveness of these techniques and left the session with a new found self-confidence that they were better equipped for defending themselves in case such a situation would arise. Thanks Rico and Ryu for making the huge trip across town to teach the group such valuable lessons and skills.
The super smash bros tournament was another highpoint for all those that chose to participate in the event. The evening was characterised by empathic cheers of elation and desperate screams in hope that it would somehow affect the outcome of the game. There were plenty of breathtaking combos, spectacular dodges, clever strategizing, and of course, cheap shots a plenty. The fiercely competitive doubles competition featured numerous sudden death moments where the difference between victory and failure was all but a few percentage points. Despite the competitive nature of the event all participants showed good sportsmanship with zero accounts of throwing the controller in a raged fit. Congratulations to Andre and Leon who walked away that evening as the smash bros doubles campions.
This year’s event again featured crowd favourites like capture the flag, table tennis, and ultimate frisbee among others. Overall it was a great weekend enjoyed by all. Thanks to all the staff and participants who were involved in this event to make it such a memorable experience for all. I’d also like to give a special thanks to all those involved in the busy bees focused on developing the Belgrave Heights property in the lead up to the Sportsfest, especially, uncle Rick James who put in a lot of time and effort well before September working on various improvements to the property including the oval drainage project which allowed us to utilise the oval for many of our sports and activities, and, no doubt, for many more to come.

Reflection on Rev Kim & Rev Cho’s Visit to Melbourne
Rev Cho and Rev Kim visited four days in Melbourne with Rev Park as the translator.
The first meeting was Q & A time with members. Members gave the following questions, and we appreciated IWs’ response:
1. Conflict Between North and South Korea, how can it be solved?
Rev Cho - TF’s 5th Seonghwa Anniversary, N-Korea sent a special present to TF.
Rev Kim - Conflict of N-S Korea is a blessing in disguise, and communist nation cannot survive more than 70 years.
2. How to connect to the western world?
Rev Kim - This is the way of true love, and we are sharing happy and great feeling between husband and wife as blessed couple.
3. How we can change the Cain type spiritual world?
Rev Kim – In early days of our movement, Korea went through difficult spiritual time, and we had been risking our life. When in the 1960s, communism and free world had been fighting, TF proclaimed ‘Heavenly value system’, ‘True Love Value movement,’ if we do not have this Value, we are same as like the secular world.
At the main gathering on Saturday, 21st October,
Rev Cho’s message:
Start anew! Never be afraid of change, but of course we need to keep tradition,
We should focus on witnessing & nurture second gen leaders, alignment with TP is the key,
TM is standing frontline, and when we think TF & TM, we will get inspiration and motivation.
TM sent IWS to encourage us to inherit TP’s direction, how we can be true sons and daughters, and challenge to fulfill HTM 430 couples blessing. If you love each other, with true love, automatically lot of people will come to you.
If we isolate ourselves, then there is no future, TM created “Cranes Club” and invited all youth, and we are the only one to give solution to same-sex marriage issue.
Rev Kim’s message,
TM want to encourage all members, True mother’s heart is so deep, and is a True Mother to all of us. I have done 430 couples marriage blessing at 73 years old.
TM proclaimed ‘I am the begotten daughter,’ TF have spoken this 180 times. Since God is invisible, God needs TP as His substantial body.
Jesus was the Messiah but he could not become TP, TF is the spiritual world. TF needs TM, TM is the central position on earth. When the Jewish people could not unite with the central figure, they went through 2000 years of suffering.
This time we received the message and testimony from IWs, and the most important point was that Rev Kim & Rev Cho are the individuals who have alignment with True Mother in their heart, and they have deep heart for members. Despite their ages, they are very healthy, happy and have warm personalities.
Rev Kim held 145 times 3-day Revival and HD meeting in Korea, and pioneered small churches with 15 members. In three months, the churches increased to around 50 members. If Melbourne members determined and have alignment with TM on earth, we can build 210 membership by 2020.
We had IW before, Tiger Park in 1976 and later Rev Ahn who gave a great impression to members in a long time, and this time we received two IWs and who are specially sent by TM, we like to express special gratitude to TM. And we like to respond seriously, and this is a new beginning.
We would like to thank Rev Park for his translation.

Visit of Special International Itinerary Workers to Australia
Queensland Report and Reflections
State Leader & Pastor: Steve and Susi Evans
We welcomed our Special International Itinerary Workers (IW's), Rev Myeong Dae Kim and Rev Man Woong Cho and our new Regional President Rev Shang Seon Park to Brisbane on Tuesday the 24th of October for 3 days till the 27th.
Upon arrival, we took them for lunch to a fine Korean Restaurant then drove to Mt. Coottha, the highest viewpoint overlooking the City for prayers for the City, State, members and leadership. Followed by ice cream with a view, we returned to our apartment for dinner and some preparation for the evening presentations.
Our IW's came with the heart of True Mother filled with clarity sharing the required ideal alignment by Rev Kim and the Kingdom building structure and Heavenly Tribal Messianic mission explained by Rev Cho.
Rev Park in closing spoke powerfully and convincingly about the primacy of True Love saying all activities achieve nothing sustainable without it. A fitting end to an evening filled with information and encouraging instruction.
On the following day, we welcomed several Blessed Couples for private meetings with our guests throughout the day and evening.
The IWs meeting Ambassadors for Peace. Freya Ostapovitch and Surendra. They had a great conversation about working together to develop UPF Brisbane AFPs and WFWP network
Our Thursday was set aside for touring the region.
Not knowing what to expect Susi and I went shopping the first evening with trepidation as attending elder Korean leaders can historically be challenging. Very soon we realised the keys to the heart was not only the food but the sincerity that engendered a family spirit.
Revs Kim, Rev Cho and our new Regional President, Rev Park were most loving and welcoming carrying no expectations but to love the leaders and members conveying True Mother’s heart of care and concern.
Our HDK mornings began at 6AM with song, intro, pledge, the reading from the Chambumo Gyeong from Book four, the salvation through the Holy Marriage Blessing.
Rev Kim, as the Elder Korean Representative of the 10 sent out by True Mother and from the 124 Couple Blessing offered many deep experiences and personal testimonies attending True Parents
Over many years. He was given by True Father the title of "King of Pioneers", as he initiated many Churches internationally. Rev Kim is also a spiritual son of Young We Kim and spiritual parent of Hoon Mo Nim (Kim Hyo Nam). He has born much fruit in his service to Heaven. A dry sense of humour and a childlike nature impacted our hearts as we shared over three days in the mornings, meal times and on during our travels..
Rev Cho offered his thoughts and insights as the head of Korean Blessed Families for several years and was a member of the 430 Couple Blessing.
He came to love Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast after our tour on the Thursday and wants to bring his wife to visit in the future. He and Steve developed a friendship and walked often arm in arm.
Additionally, Steve and Mamiko Rattley, UPF Director, organised a meeting over coffee with two leading AFPs and the IW's were quite taken by Surendra our President and Ambassador Freya Ostopovich a local politician. Additionally, as a Christian Freya is very passionate about speaking publicly against abortion and for family values. The IW's asked her many questions and suggested we all continue to pray for her next election and continued success, and very much encouraged her.
Upon reflection both Susi and I experienced TP love and deep encouragement from all four leaders to include our national leader Rev. Soon Teck Lim who joined us in attending our valued IW's and Regional President.
We were moved by their continued attendance to TP and our True Mother during morning HDK readings and follow-up discussions ably lead by Rev Park. The example of solid spiritual alignment was so exemplified by our guests than we were again awakened to the times we shared mornings with True Father present, quite powerful!
In closing Rev Kim shared that usually he does not address personal opinions re leadership during his mission as IW but felt called as a historic Church Pioneer to share his impressions that the Brisbane Church is currently in a position that if some two or three changes were to take place could grow exponentially in the near future.
After fleshing out his suggestions Rev Park requested Rev Lim change his flight plans and stay one more day to meet with the entire community sharing Rev Kim's inspirations.
That occurred and a new vision is being prepared by the Brisbane community.
Our sincere gratitude to Rev's Kim, Cho, Park and Lim for their divine unity with TP there many contributions and victories individually that have so inspired Susi and I and eventually our entire membership.
Susi and I also would like to thanks Kim and Naoko Raymond, Yejeong DeGere, Shizuyo Adamedes and the entire Brisbane family for helping welcome and love our special guests.
With loving thankfulness,
Pastors Steve and Susi Evans and for the Queensland community.
